China is rapidly expanding its dominance in auto manufacturing. To keep America’s auto industry competitive, we need strong federal policies that protect jobs, strengthen U.S. supply chains, and ensure U.S. leadership in manufacturing.

Right now, critical investments that support American auto jobs, like 30D and 45W, which are consumer and business incentives, and 45X, which is a manufacturing incentive that on-shores our supply chain are at risk. On-shoring means we are manufacturing critical vehicle components here at home—not in China—boosting American national security and protecting jobs. Without these policies, we risk losing our competitive edge, ceding ground to China, and weakening our economy.
